Sapphire:

Sapphire Stone In previous times, some people supposed that the firmament was a colossal blue sapphire in which the globe was entrenched. Could there be an additional appropriate representation to illustrate the beauty of an immaculate sapphire? And yet this gem arises not in one but in all the entire blue shades of that firmament, varying from the deep blue of the evening sky to the unblemished mid-blue of an attractive summer's day which radiates its imply over us.

However, this splendid precious stone also arises in many other colors: not only in the apparent grayish-blue of a far-off horizon but also in the magnificently colorful play of light in a sunset - in yellow, pink, orange and purple. Sapphires in reality are gems of the sky, even though they are established in the hard position of our 'blue planet'.

Blue is the chief color of the sapphire. Blue is also the favorite color of some 50 per cent of all populace, men and women comparable. We correlate this color, powerfully associated to the sapphire as it is, with feelings of understanding and concord, friendship and loyalty: feelings which should be in the right place to qualities that establish their worth in the extended term - feelings in which it is not so much sparkling infatuation that is to the fore, but somewhat composure, reciprocated understanding and unyielding trust. Thus the blue of the sapphire has turn out to be a color which fits in with the whole lot that is invariable and dependable. That is one of the rationales why women in many countries longs for a sapphire ring on their appointment.

The sapphire symbolizes trustworthiness, but at the same time it gives turn of phrase to people's feeling of affection for and longing. Perhaps the main prominent instance of this blue is to be established in music, in George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue". And the blue of the sapphire still appears where nothing all counts apart from clear-sightedness and determined cerebral attempt. The 1st computer which thrived in defeating a global chess champion bore the noteworthy title 'Deep Blue'.
