Diamond Simulants
Cubic
Zirconia
Cubic
Zirconia (CZ) is one of the most frequently bumped into diamond simulant.
All marketable CZ is formed synthetically in laboratories however, it
is also found in nature as a natural resource. In both its synthetic
and innate forms, CZ is colorless but color can be induced in to which
enable the fake market to sell them at highest prices claiming it to
be pink diamonds, etc. A thermal pen tester which is a potential testing
equipment that can quickly and easily detect CZ.
Synthetic Moissanite
Synthetic moissanite is a newly created
diamond simulant that has leaped up to join the long list of products
that imitate or look similar when compared to diamonds. Although moissanite
is being marketed currently expressing their true sense as a novel unique,
synthetic gemstone, some of its properties are even matching enough
to those compared to the diamonds to even lead experts in to confusion
in the trade. Synthetic moissanite is a diamond simulant similar to
the Cubic Zirconia however; it can be cleared of its stake mainly because
of its usage as a diamond by the extensively used thermal pen testers
because it has analogous thermal properties to diamonds. However, it
can be identified without problems by other testing methods.
